Meet Zoleka

Small Business & Nonprofit Strategist/Collaboration Coach/ Motivational Speaker/Community Activist

Zoleka Sparks was born in Queens, New York but raised in Suffolk, Virginia. Her teenage years were spent shadowing her father, Persie Stagg, a community activist who was a member of the NAACP, President of the Elephants Fork Civic League and held office on the Suffolk Planning Commission.

 

With the knowledge she gained, she continued he philanthropic work consistently volunteered with Blood banks, MS Association. and the Susan Komen's Breast Cancer Association.

 

Mrs. Sparks later earned an A.A.S. in Small Business, double major B.S. in Human Resources and Retail Administration and a MPA in Public Administration. She holds 8 certifications in various areas including Six Sigma

 

She has spent 15 years in Corporate America as HR Administrator then later becoming Corporate Starbucks trained and running 10 licensed Starbucks Kiosks within Farm Fresh Grocery stores. She also founded the Diversity & Inclusion Council for their 44 stores. When Supervalu brought Farm Fresh, she realized it was her time to step out on Faith, took her severance pay and invested it into her firm and mobile bakery. In 1994, Brown Suga Enterprises LLC and Brown Suga Delights was birthed. Since then she has assisted over 100 small businesses and Nonprofits succeed and thrive as well as dessert catering over 100 events. In 2021, She began rebranding herself and the business birthing, Boss Sparks Inc, to bring together the many services that was added over the years.

 

Consistently continuing her community involvement, she serves as Vice President of Jeanna's Ifeed, Lead Consultant for the Metropolitan Business League Norfolk, Board President of Deserving One Foundation, CEO, Juneteenth Heirs of Excellence Organization, Project Manager, Lamb Foundation, President of the Elephants Fork Civic league in Suffolk and member of various associations and committees.

 

Empowerment to me is to give of yourself selflessly to assist others in achieving their goals. I believe as human beings we have a charge to consistently uplift and assist each other in every way possible. What we learn is not just to elevate us but to elevate others as well, and doing so. keeps us grounded in who we are.
